Moments in Marseille
Sun-soaked and salt-scented, Marseille sits at the edge of the Mediterranean, a city of old stone and hidden coves. The hush of midday warmth invites you to wander without purpose and find beauty in the unplanned.
We joined Carla here with a suitcase of soft cottons, airy broderie and sailor-stripe dresses made for the coast. Clothes that felt at home by the sea and through narrow laneways, designed to move at the city’s unhurried pace.
Discover the places, moments and pieces that defined our days on the Marseille waterfront.
TO WEAR
Stripes that nodded to old port awnings; a Gabrielle Dress for seaside walks; the Louise and Manon set for slow lunches. Airy broderie in Ciel Blue for heat-soft mornings. Carla travelled light, in pieces made to feel lived-in and salt-kissed.
TO EXPLORE
Wander Le Panier’s sun-warmed lanes; pause at hidden cafés. Escape to the Calanques for turquoise coves and limestone paths. Let the city set the pace: cherries from the market, pastis in a shaded square, the slip of a boat line in the harbour.
TO REMEMBER
Days slow to the hush of the sea. Salt clings to skin and worries lift with it. A bowl of bouillabaisse at Chez Fonfon, rich and warm, eaten with the ocean just a breath away. The city glowing gold from Notre-Dame de la Garde — proof that beauty doesn’t have to ask for attention.
We carried home salt on the skin and a memory of blue that stayed etched in our minds.
